What CPT 96131 covers
96131 is reported in addition to 96130 for each further hour of psychological testing evaluation — integration, interpretation, decision making, report and feedback. It cannot be billed without 96130 for the same evaluation.
As with the base code, evaluation time is kept separate from administration time (96136–96139), and total documented time must support the number of add-on hours reported.
It fits psychological testing evaluations whose interpretation, decision making, and reporting extend beyond a single hour.
